Pickler was born Kellie dawn Pickler June 28, 1986. She had a turbulent childhood. Her mother left her at the age of two in order to get out of the abuse of her partner. Pickler's mother returned in 1995 to her life and took full custody. The situation did not go very well. Pickler was reunited with her grandparents at 12. They helped them through adulthood. Pickler did not have the capacity to raise her children in their absence. According to her, because she had no time for studying, she began learning how to cook and clean from a very early age.
