Zoe-perry

Perry is the child of Laurie Metcalf (actor) and Jeff Perry (actor). The character Jackie Harris was played by her mother in both the two episodes she appeared on Roseanne. The parents of her didn't want her to pursue acting until she became an adult, fearing the effects of stress. Perry acknowledged that she was not confident in her acting during high school. She began doing it to make friends at Northwestern University after switching from Boston University. Perry made her debut as an actress in New York after graduation, performing in minor roles on Law & Order: Criminal Intent. But homesickness made Perry go back to California to work as a theater actress. She performed on Broadway with her mother in The Other Place with her mother in the year 2013. In 2015, she performed with her father and Kevin McKidd in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning play Anna Christie on the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble in West Los Angeles. In the year 2016, Perry appeared on nine episodes of ABC's thriller The Family. In 2017, she played a recurring role on The ABC drama about politics Scandal with her father. She was also cast in her role on the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon as a version younger than Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mother. The actress was chosen for the role despite her close familial connection to the character.
